Asda Direct baby range review
One place we always turn to when it comes to getting budget friendly baby items is good old Asda Direct (their online store). In my opinion their baby events can’t be matched and I was delighted to be approached to pick £50 worth of items to review. You’ll actually be quite surprised at how much I was able to get with just £50…
Eleanor is at that age now where she enjoys trying to bare a bit of weight on her legs so I thought it’s a great time to try her in a door bouncer. Squish used to love his and I have fond memories of his jolly little face bobbing about – Yawnofthedad and I used to sit by the door just watching him – best thing ever. My friend had this Lindam bouncer so I knew it was a good choice. However, my little dinky E we found is not weighty enough for her little feet to meet the floor yet so it’s more of a dangle than a jump at the moment as you can see:
Hopefully within the next month or so she’ll be having some bouncy good times although to be honest she is quite happy dangling… who knew!?… tbc
The next item we chose was an ‘Animal waterproof play mat’. As you may have noticed from my million instagram videos, weaning has begun and my floor has been covered in ALL the food. So after a bit of advice via the realms of twitter I decided to get one of these mats so I can collect said food instead of my beautiful rug. To be honest I’ve not been massively impressed with this item. It is waterproof but the top layer is a cloth material which isn’t ideal for the purpose I need it for – I think it would have been better for me to get something wipe clean as I’m forever bunging this in the washing machine. I have tried using it as a play mat instead but it’s near impossible to keep flat as the top layer slips about on the waterproof layer (especially with a wriggling/rolling baby on).
The next couple of items I chose were a lovely Collar Knit Dress and Pointelle Scallop Trim Cardigan. We haven’t yet used the dress as Eleanor is only juts moving into her 6-9 month clothes and it’s on the generous side so it a bit too long at the moment. The quality is really impressive for the price though so I would highly recommend. The cardigan is a good fit and this one sits in her changing bag in case it gets a bit chilly as I find it goes with most outfits. It is on the thin side though so if you’re looking for a winter cardigan this one might not be right for you.
Cardigan price: £5.00
Dress price: £8.00 (bargain alert!!)
I think the clothes inparticular are great value for your money. I mean the dress alone wouldn’t look out of place on some of the clothes racks I see in store such as The White Company which come with a significantly larger price tag. If you want to have a browse through Asda baby range, you can find everything you need (and more) on their online store… give it a go, I doubt you’ll be disappointed. You can also find Asda direct over on Twitter and Facebook.
