Butlins for Christmas
I’ve not really shouted about this much on my blog yet but you may have noticed my shiny Butlins Ambassadors badge that I’m proudly displaying. As part of our new ambassadors role we will be going on 2 Butlins holidays at 2 different resorts, so we can rush back to tell you all about it – I know, great huh? Having never been to Butlins before but having heard so many great things we were absolutely thrilled at getting picked.
We’ve actually already booked both of our breaks and will be heading to Skegness tomorrow (!!) for some festive fun to really kick off Christmas with a bang. We chose this particular weekend because Squish turns 5 on Saturday so it seemed like a great way of making his birthday extra special – plus he hasn’t got a clue that he’s going yet *rubs hands together evil style* My mum and dad will be coming along too – my dad will no doubt be testing out the gym and my mum fussing around the kiddies. I’m really glad they’ll be coming – it’s been a tough few years for them and it’s nice that I’m able to give them a little treat
So, where are we staying? what are we doing? what will we be eating? Fear not, I’m on hand to give you the guided tour of Christmas at Butlins:
We’ll be staying in one of their Gold Apartments which can sleep up to 6 people and includes the following:
Early Check in
2 or 3 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and a lounge and kitchen
Bed linen and towels provided
Kitchen complete with dishwasher and microwave
Widescreen TV in the lounge and small TV in master bedroom
We opted for this over the hotel mainly because we liked the bit of self catering – especially having 2 fussy children to feed. While I’m on the subject, check out Minehead’s new fancy chalets – we can’t wait to stay here next year!!
– Entertainment and Activities-
Butlins at Christmas looks amazing and when I started looking into the breaks I was suprised at actually how much is inclusive of your booking price too. Even the little extra classes which require you to pay won’t break the bank either – usually coming in around the £5 mark! Here’s a quick whistle stop tour of Skegness entertainment and activities…
Imagine a magical snowstorm in the Skyline Pavilion with a heart-warming story and enchanting songs and you’re still not even close.
Meet Father Christmas
If your little ones have some very specific instructions for Santa, visit him in Frosty’s Frozen Dome .
Each of our resorts will be hosting their very own Ice rink for you and your family to enjoy on all our festive breaks.
Arts and Crafts
Have you got an elf in training? They’ll love getting creative in these Christmas themed arts and crafts sessions.
Your little ones will love getting involved in a classic Christmas family Panto (oh yes they will).
…and that’s just the Christmas events…. all year round you can enjoy…
Splash Waterworld is fun for all the family with shallow areas for your little ones and a big pool for the more adventurous ones.
Indoor Tots Rides
Spin in a teacup, fly high in a plane, or ride the rails on a ladybird. It’s all free, so your little ones can ride as many times as they like on our Tots Rides
Indoor Soft Play Area
At Butlins we know that little ones have endless energy, so they will love running around and exploring our indoor soft play areas.
You can ride all day for free in our Traditional Fairground, which will be open weather permitting.
…but wait, there’s more… LIVE SHOWS!!
Join the Skyline Gang as they perform different themed shows on the Skyline Pavilion stage.
Join the gang and help with solves some spooky mysteries in this fun packed family show.
Blues on the move
With music from the iconic era of the blues brothers this show will have you singing along to classic hits. (My dad will love this!)
Our fantastic cast of singers and dancers bring the smash hits of Freddie Mercury and Queen to life! Jam packed with your favourite songs from the band.
We’re actually rather disorganised and haven’t planned out exactly what we are going to see – now I’m writing it all down I’m realising it would be impossible to get through all of that so I think @Yawnofthedad needs to pull his finger out and get a list going ;) Splash Waterworld is the highlight for me though because I just know Squish is going to absolutely love it. Plus it’s all brand new and specially design for optimum water fun-times. Take a look at this:
You’ll be able to enjoy flame grilled meats, customise your own pasta, daily Annabel Karmel dishes, fresh pancakes, omelettes, starters, desserts, cheese boards and an unlimited ice-cream factory. Bottomless juices and hot drinks available at all times too.”
Sounds amazing although, I’m now worried about how much I’m going to weigh coming home having access to boundless cheese boards and pancakes. Good job my Jane Plan diet is on pause until after Christmas!
So, that’ll be us this weekend!! Now I’ve got to the end of this post I’m feeling something I’ve been too busy to feel until now – festive and giddy. We cannot WAIT to see Squish’s face when we tell him where he’s going…. and we’ll be filming it all by the way… naturally!
I just wanted to point out too that Butlins are running an Advent competition at the moment with some awesome prizes up for grabs so you should totally check that out.
Now, please excuse me while I panic wrap, pack, post and generally run around in circles until something a bit more that ‘ARGH’ falls out of my brain.
BRING. ON. TOMORROW*
*fast forward to the car bit though, the morning will be a nightmare!
